After moving to Switzerland with my family, I was eager to learn German. So, I enrolled in group and private courses for a few years, determined to master yet another foreign language.
However, I struggled to find lessons that would help me effectively communicate my professional expertise. This surprised me because I had learned Greek while living and working in Athens without much trouble. But learning German in Switzerland showed me the difference between language teaching and language coaching.
After 15 years of corporate experience in architecture and design—working on global projects and residing in five different countries, I now apply my international business knowledge to help my clients achieve their professional and personal goals through effective communication in English and Brazilian Portuguese. I specialize in language coaching and cross-cultural training to empower professionals to communicate with impact in the international business environment.
My years of foreign language teaching experience started during my undergraduate university years. Since then, I have worked as an English & Brazilian Portuguese language teacher in Brazil, the USA, and Greece. But it wasn’t until after my change in career path here in Switzerland and the launch of faa Language Coaching that I combined my previous professional knowledge with my personal experience learning German into an effective language coaching methodology. During the past few years, I have had the opportunity to help hundreds of clients communicate more effectively and confidently in English through language coaching, guiding, motivating, and helping learners develop autonomy in their language learning journey.
I am a CELTA (University of Cambridge) certificate holder and a Licensed TELC examiner. As a language coach and former healthcare sector architect, I also specialize in business, technical and healthcare English teaching. In addition, I train learners to prepare for their Cambridge Certificate Examinations.
